Bags of Fun

Please note this is a 2 day course. Participants will need to commit to both days. You will also need a sewing machine that has some automatic embroidery patterns apart from zigzag. Deposit £10 Saturdays 11th & 25th November

Spangle, Stitch and Shine

By using transfoils, hotspots and glitter alongside stencilling, beads and sequins you will make an unusual panel that will not only allow you to try many new techniques but will give you hours of pleasure.

Travel Iron Kit

This bag holds your travel iron and also unfolds to make a heatproof ironing mat , ideal for taking to classes. It is fun to make as well as being both attractive and practical.

Create Your Own Icon

These much revered panels are things of beauty in their own right as well as being devotional objects. We will use a variety of techniques to simulate 'age'. You can Invent your own or use one of the many internet images as a starting point.

Stash Buster Quilt

This is an excellent way to use that store of material that you have acquired over the years and really don't know what to do with. I made the quilt in the picture without spending an extra penny, everything came out of my stash. Some of the fabric originally belonged to my grandmother! At last

Framing with Fabric

This is a quick and easy way of presenting a piece of textile art that much less expensive than going to a commercial framer. You can complete your frame in a day and it will be ready to hang next morning.

Table Mats

A set of these table mats make a wonderful gift. They are fun and simple to make—an ideal starting project for beginners. You can easily complete one in a day and have the rest cut out to complete at home.

Making the most of Transfer Paints

I have felt for a long time that these paints are an under-used resource. This day will allow you to experiment with them and discover their rich potential. We will make colour swatches using different fabrics In the morning and in the afternoon print a design ready for stitching.

‘Medieval’ Tiles

Using traditional heraldic images we will make a set of three tiles which can be mounted together or separately. By combining stenciling, quilting, appliqué and other decorative techniques to simulate 'age' these tiles become mini works of art.

Dye, Dye, Dye, Delilah

Most years we end the season with a dying day, keeping fingers crossed for good weather. This year is no different. I’ve just changed the name! A chance for you to replenish your stock of hand dyed fabric (with instruction if needed) for the sewing year ahead.

Make a Calendar for 2025

Choose an image that appeals to you.  We will photo it onto fabric for you to embroider and then make into a calendar.  Make lovely stocking fillers.
