Testimonials
Just to say congratulations to you and your ladies for such a beautiful exhibition. It was a fabulous display of unique textile art demonstrating not only the incredible stitching skills of the ladies but also their flare for original design. All this inspiration coming from your classes. You reach parts we didn’t know we had! Congratulations you should feel very pleased with yourself and the ladies.
Best wishes Pat x (September 2019)
I would like to thank you for all that you have taught me and the help you have given over the past many years. I have learnt such a lot of new techniques as well as developing my skills in this medium, even working through the frustrations of things not quite working out. I am also more confident to try / experiment with textiles and sewing in general. I can honestly say that I have thoroughly enjoyed all the days spent at Tor Hole, feels more like a day spent with friends or even family, lovely lunches, and something new and exciting to be worked on. So glad I came to that first one day course, my life has been enriched by the subsequent experiences. Thank you.

Thank you so much for yesterday’s workshop, and especially for all the help and guidance in light of my lack of machine embroidery skills! I learned so much throughout the day, and am absolutely delighted with my efforts. I shall be putting the finishing touches to my book later today, and look forward to sharing the result with members of the local sewing group at our next meeting. The purchase of one of your own worked books will continue to inspire me, and serve as a reminder that I need to develop more confidence with the machine embroidery! I very much hope that you will be able to run a Beginners’ Day Course some time in the not too distant future!
May I also say a big thank you for the splendid lunch and non-stop refreshments throughout the day; you made us all feel so welcome at your charming cottage. A truly delightful day!
I’m enclosing my address as suggested, just in case you are able to offer the Machine Embroidery workshop.

Thank you for a splendid day yesterday. I always dread design days but this one was wonderful and positive and I really felt I got somewhere. Can’t wait to do something with the design. My son was impressed too and wants to “have a go” himself. Watch this space!
Here is a photo of the dreaded harp cover with child.
It does look a bit like a gigantic oven glove!
And here she is playing the instrument.
I can’t tell you what a relief it was to finish it.

I eagerly looked forward to your workshop last Saturday and wasn’t disappointed. Thank you for a brilliant day and a superb lunch. I was very pleased with my achievements and look forward to the next workshop in November.

Lesley – everyone enjoyed today – mostly thanks to you making everything so easy. Dorothy said it as so good to be encouraged and not to feel bad when something was done wrongly! I think that is what is so good about your lessons. I know I’m not the quickest or best with colour but I never feel I’m not as good as the others because you always say such nice things.

You have beaten me to it! I wanted to thank you very much for a most enjoyable and stimulating day yesterday; both family and friends all
thoroughly appreciated all that you did to make it such a treat of a day – complete with a delicious lunch outside in the sunshine. I was
thrilled at Jill’s transformation from being scared stiff of her sewing machine to almost being joined at the hip with it by the end of the day!
Thank you very much indeed for breaking into your summer to teach us – and I am sure we will all be back at some stage.’

Many thanks for info on second year. Yessssss pleeeease – I meant to write after the Beautiful Backgrounds day, I thought it was one of those special days when the other participants were great, and of course the food was really good, as ever.

Just a line to thank you so much for an enjoyable workshop on Wednesday. The company and the relaxed atmosphere was just what I needed. My daughter was very impressed with the bag and wants me to make her one for Christmas.
Maybe one day I will make it to another of your workshops – I shall certainly tell my friends.

I had a wonderful day with you yesterday; I really enjoyed the microwave dyeing. As usual the small group of people were friendly, the surroundings delightful and the food lovely. You make it all look so easy!
I now have another skill to enjoy and this one I can share with my family and do at home.
See you in a few weeks for “Book Covers”.
Jenny (October 2010)
Thank you so much for another inspiring day. My husband was most impressed by my efforts at dyeing and I was very pleased with the results and feel keen to do some more experimenting. (He is also very envious of the lunches we get and thinks it is a real bargain!). I have also been on your website which looks very impressive and good to see your beautiful work from the dining room having pride of place.
